Stan Barua is a versatile cinematographer, having worked on lyrical cinema, tough documentaries, a variety of television and commercials for over 27 years. He has filmed extensively in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia, receiving multiple recognitions for his Director of Photography work. Stan’s skill with digital cinematography, film and HDTV camera systems comes with calm and detailed collaboration with all departments of production to realize artistically and technically challenging, award-winning stories.
Stan Barua had his formative years in Poland and in Kenya. He holds an MA in Cinematography degree from the Łódź Polish Film School, speaks his native Swahili and Polish and fluent English. Stan remains happily married, with grown children, and has been based in Canada for 20 years.
